I just downloaded and listened to the new Marilyn Manson greatest hits. Not bad at all. The 80’s covers make it worth the purchase download. Let me know if you want a copy.
lest we forget

Awwwwww…why must people always be talking about illegal downloading???
Music…Industry…morals…taking…over. Must…resist.
bah! downloading is the only way. when they start selling music for what it’s worth and paying the artists what *they’re* worth, then i’ll give a shit.
If you feel that strongly about it, post about it! :)
back in the day music was supposed to be a form of free thought and poetry. it was an art. a goddman free art mother fuckers no one paid for that shit…so why should we? when did it turn from something lovely to be enjoyed by all into money-grubbing assholes making pop music to sell tits and ass? lame.
Money-grubbing assholes piss me off in general, even beyond the musical field. Grr!
Stupid money grubbing assholes!! :p
Not saying that (famous) musicians don’t make enough money…but seriously, if your career (read: your only way to make money and support yourself) is making music, or painting pictures, or writing books – any and all of these forms of art – wouldn’t *you* want to be paid too? Again, maybe they get paid too much, and maybe many (if not all) are money grubbing assholes…but for those musicians who make music purely because they love to and want to share that with the world, why should they not get paid?
i think there should be a middle ground. i mean, lets say someone has a cd collection of 100-200 cd’s. (which is modest for some) This means that he spent anywhere between $1500 and $4000 on music alone. thats just too much money for a girl like me.
music is a luxury item that most people are not willing to do without.
but like amanda says, if this is someone’s career, they need to sell a lot of cd’s to make ends meet. the industry is a hard thing to get into.
but who doesn’t want to live like a rock star?
the story I heard was that when all the music bigwigs got together when CD’s were first made available, there was someone saying that they should be $5. Most anyone can afford to shell out $5, and wouldn’t give it a second thought. They decided to make the industry standard twice that. I say fuck ‘em. In the end I’m sure any artist would rather I listen to their music for nothing than to not listen to them at all. It’s all about the art, right? Being heard is what matters… unless you’re one of those musicians that constitutes the “tits and ass” previously mentioned.
I’ve always thought of the record execs as the money-grubbing assholes, didn’t mean the artists :P
