This is enjoyable…

Ballot Measures

Alaska | Measure 2: Legalizing Marijuana

Would legalize the cultivation, use and sale of marijuana for persons 21 and older; the state and local government would regulate marijuana like alcohol and tobacco; doctors would be able to prescribe drugs to all patients, including children; public use laws could be enacted by the government as well as laws in the interest of public safety.

Of all the states to attempt this, I gotta say I didn’t think Alaska would be one of them. But, for whatever reason, I’m really not all that surprised

I find it really funny since all of their incumbents are Republican. Perhaps they are moderate (which I actually like). But finding a moderate Republican is like finding pure marijuana in a hemp field.

*shrug* That is awesome. I wish other states would start trying to pass laws like this…

If this passes, Alaska may become the Amsterdam of the US –as well as the new spring break haven!

Having seen as much Northern Exposure as I have, I’m really not all that surprised. Bunch of hippies.

To hell with red and blue states, I want a green state.

you know, alaska stays dark for months at a time…eternal night and legal reefer? im there.

ya know…when you put it that way asha, CARPOOL! (and btw, it’s only in the more northern parts that it’s dark for months-but there is considerably MORE dark)

But then in those places that it’s daylight all day you could do solar bong loads any time of day, all day. I’m so there.

Alaska has already had this for a while, then some people got a bug up their butts and got all strict about the pot and tried to take it away, and then a pot luvin judge was like “uh,…no, we want our pot” and so now they’re gonna vote on it. Here’s the official story http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6221

Sounds like a good plan, lets hope the vote passes, i would also like to see more states doing so as well as Canada, British Columbia would be a start, maybe Quebec… how about those elections results ?

  9. Sad News says

With just five days remaining until Alaskans vote on a ballot
initiative to remove criminal penalties for marijuana use, the state
is buzzing about a 16-year-old who allegedly killed his stepmother in
a dispute over his marijuana use … while he was high on
marijuana … and put her in a freezer, where her body remained for
three days until her husband found her.

Yes…because I believe that the “demon weed” makes you act all crazy and homicidal. Just like in Reefer Madness.

  11. thebombmom says

They voted down legalizing weed in Alaska…bummer. However, Montana approved medical marijuana use! So, when you come down with some dreaded disease, move to the Big Sky Country!
