24: Season 1

First and foremost, there will not be any spoilers in this. I want to make sure this is known, because I know for a fact that there are people that read this blog who are planning on watching this, one in particular who owns it and hasn’t watched yet. I understand, there aren’t enough hours in the day. Moving on…

Jack Bauer is the FUCKING MAN. Kiefer Sutherland plays Jack Bauer, the head of the Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles. An assassination is likely to happen, and Jack must save the day. Literally. All fucking day he is saving the day. There’s people on the inside that are in on it, there are tons of bad guys, lots of twists and turns… it truly would be the longest day of your life, just like the little intro to the episodes say.

The cast is astounding. Jack’s family, the CTU staff, the terrorists, the Senator’s staff and family… everyone is top notch. I can only think of maybe a handful of people that didn’t do all that well, but even they had their moments from time to time.

I am chomping at the bit to watch the second season, and I’m even tempted to watch the first again, now that I know who is in on what and who is who and what is what… umm, yeah. At any rate, this is a series that I am now 100% hooked on. Every episode, right at the **:59:59 mark, I am jumping up and down in my seat for the next episode, with the exception of the last episode, after which I sat silent in awe of what I just witnessed. Nothing more. I promised no spoilers, and I will stick to that. I don’t know that I have the patience to watch this on TV, now that I have started watching them on DVD 4 episodes at a time. I suppose if I were to catch the season from the beginning I would be much more willing. By that time I should be caught up.
